must say i'm a bit disappointed to see that the NZ channels still dont show up without having to do manual transponder scans in the RC version.  would like to have seen two optus d1 entries in the list - one for aus and one for NZ.

at least it configured the channels without restarts and messing around this time though :-)

No promises - but that data is independent of the Win7 software and downloaded from the Microsoft servers. We're working on providing what you said: an Optus D1 NZ and a Optus D1 AU.

The channel numbers would be

0001  TV ONE
0001  TV One
0002  TV2
0002  TV 2
0003  TV3
0004  C4
0005  Maori TV
0006  TVNZ 6
0007  TVNZ SPORT EXTRA
008   STRATOS
009   Parliament TV
0010  CUE
0011  Reserved 6
0012  TVNZ 7
0013  Te Reo
0013  Reserved 5
0014  Reserved 4
0015  TV3 PLUS1
TCM
Fox News
Documentary
Star Plus Hindi
Arts Channel
Grooves iTV
R1    RNZ National
R2    RNZ Concert
R3    BaseFM
R4    GeorgeFM

Does any one want to suggest better default channel numbers?
Looking at the two TV2's etc. Are there really two of these broadcast?
Looking at http://www.lyngsat.com/optusd1.html it seems like there is.

Cheers

Mike

Mike,

The only Freeview ie Free to Air broadcasts come from two transponders:

12456/H/22500
12483/H/22500

Both of these are listed on http://www.lyngsat.com/optusd1.html

All the other stuff including the duplicate broadcasts (Station ID's TV One and TV2 from 12671) are from Sky Television (mostly encrypted, except for the two listed and a few radio stations).  These two in particular are just rebroadcasts of stations TV ONE and TV 2 on 12483.

That is:
TCM
Fox News
Documentary
Star Plus Hindi
Arts Channel
Grooves iTV

are encrypted signals and of no use to anybody.  We can't use hardware CAM's in New Zealand at the moment, so there's no use scanning them.

I would think that getting the above two transponders scanned by default would be a huge step, and enough for most people.

Suggested channel numbers seem fine, other may have some comment here.

Cheers,

paulspain

Hi Mike, am enjoying an improved user experience with Win 7 RC and DVB-T, would be great to see DVB-S setup become quicker/easier.

will the channels auto update when new 1s are added or will we need to manually add the new ones?

i'm guessing the download of the new information will only occur if you go through the tv signal wizard again and perhaps only if you choose NZ as your location?

Why is everyone missing 0028 Chinese TV?

As long as the callsigns match EPG data will import and work out of the box.

"Why is everyone missing 0028 Chinese TV?"

Because we're talking about DVB-S (satellite) and from the looks of it Chinese TV is only available through DVB-T (terrestrial)
