Hey, I'm just wondering where would be the cheapest place to buy 2, 1m optical cables (decent quality too). Just leave the link if you know any good NZ Sites. Cheers

Just check out Trade Me - I think I've paid around $8 or so for optical cables in the past and never had any problems.

It's just not worth paying anything significant for digital cables (optical or HDMI) - either the signal gets there or it doesn't.  The most pressing thing is the quality of the connections - though I've never had problems with these, whether the fit has been loose or tight.

Check out the numerous threads on www.audioenz.co.nz/forums, the test of these cables in Consumer, or on numerous other websites for further thoughts on not needing to buy expensive digital cables.

The most fascinating (read dodgy) aspect of this issues is companies like Hardly Normal convincing unsuspecting consumers of the need to buy expensive digital cables ($200-300).

Cablesdirect is nice, much cheaper than retail stores but still not as cheap as trademe.

I just bought one of these from TM. Turned up the next day due to using the CC for payment and certainly seems to do the job without any issues at all. Feels like a quality product too.

Check out the cables over at Ascent . They have some pretty good prices, fairly quick delivery too.
