After having freeview hd for a while, you realise how many programs are only in stereo. So because of this I want to leave my receiver in prologic mode so it outputs the stereo signal as 5.1.

However, this is a problem when I play music from the media center as I want it to come out in stereo and not 5.1.

I know that if the pc sends a dts or dolby digital signal, it overrides the prologic on the receiver, so my Q is. Can I get media player/center to send it as a dolby digital signal but with only 2 channels?

Or should I stop complaing and not use prologic.

If it helps I've programmed some spare buttons on my logitech remote to flick between stereo mode and prologic mode depending on whether I'm watching TV/movies or listening to music. Obviously if a dolby digital signal comes through it overrides these and switches to dolby digital mode.

Yep, I was googling that last night. Going to a logitech remote with macros. Might have to be the way to go.
