A relative got a pasma LG tv, roughy 2 months ago.  They also got a zinwell 620HD.

Within 6 hours it crapped out with blue screen on picture through HDMI, but sound through HDMI fine.

Tested zinwell on my tv all fine, Rang LG and as TV was less then week old replaced TV

It has gone fine for about 2 months and now on the new tv exactly same thing has happened again, and again znwell works fine on my tv.

Guessing it's HDCP failure as I know zinwell outputs blue screen when it fails. If I'm right so much for HDCP not inconviencing the legitimate user.

Repairer picking it up Monday, and if no comunication error bringing a loan TV.

Not impressive that same faults shown up in short time on two brand new tvs.

When it fails, does it display a picture over component?

Remember when you test the box on your TV you have rebooted said box.

The above may help eliminate one or the other

Yes picture over component works fine, just blue screen from HDMI. It has two HDMI plugs both give same result. Used same cable to test Zinwell on my tv.

When tested on my tv resolution was 1080i of zinwell, changed it to 720p before putting back on LG tv, still didn't work on it.

Went through all resolutions on first LG tv which lost picture , and even 576 pal  (picture setting on zinwell) wouldn't workover HDMI

Just strange it went for few months and suddenly HDMI picture failure, and there's been no firmware updates to zinwell in that time so no way HDCP conditions have changed.

The repair company said they've never come accross this situation before on phone,  it's a warrently job so either fixed or replaced, hopefully fixed as since second tv (same model)  looks like design flaw at moment or incrediable bad luck.

Also on first tv did full manufacters reset to default settings, didn't fix hdmi issue but had to returne all analog stations after doing.

TV picked up Monday, returned fixed on Friday. They replaced a circuit board.

Going good now, fingers crossed doesn't happen again.

Best service I've seen in a long time, repairer was Ascot Electronics.
