Has anyone had this problem? I can't seem to get the Hauppauge remote to work with WinTv7

My card is a Hauppauge HVR 3000

Cheers

Have you got the hauppauge IR remote software installed?
Perhaps a little more info about your setup and software than what is in your OP might help us trouble shoot.

Just the standard setup. The IR is installed... It's the standard remote that plugs into the card (the connection is like a audio 3.5mm cable)

It's back in the box now (awaiting a new media center building project) but last time I used my HVR-4000 the IR worked fine..

although I gave up on wintv a long time ago with my hvr-3000 I thought that the ir-remote exe needed to be configured so that it selects wintv when you push the go button (or does it do that automatically when you install the wintv package)?

Do you have any other programs installed that you can test the ir response with?

I know you have probably checked this, but I'll ask anyway.... There are two similarly sized sockets on the hvr-3000, one for audio in and one for the ir sensor, the sensor plug is in the correct one isn't it? I found at one stage because the ir socket was close to the edge of the card's rear plate that it would catch on the edge of the htpc case and wouldn't always seat properly.

Yea i've checked the IR port. (i was worried i'd done that first). Its in the lowest port labeled IR.

Sometimes the remote works. yet sometimes it opens the WinTV application. However this happens randomly when i try it. I've tried installing the IR again. However it's still not going.

I guess i'll have a crack at this again tomorrow

What display are you using? If it's a plasma like mine, the sensor might be being blinded.
