Silly me bought an HVR-2200 and a Logitech Harmony 525.  Got it home, oppened the box on the 2200 and discovered that it doesn't include an IR reciever plug.

Now I am trying to figure out how I am going to get an IR reciever for this system.  Buying a new case is not an option so I guess I am trying to find either a USB IR reciever or a cheap hauppauge card with IR reciever that I will use only for the IR receiver fuctionality (don't need another tuner).

Just saw a microsoft MCE remote go on Trademe for $106.  Buggered if I want to pay that much since I only want the receiver.

Ultimately needs to work with MediaPortal (see system specs in footer) so I don't want to make this any more compliated.

Anyone know of an IR reciever that could connect via USB and get along with the Harmony 525 and MediaPortal?

Wife is getting pretty frustrated with my current tinkering so any help you give could be a marage saver. ;)

Hauppauge also do an MCE remote with the iR received and iR blaster.
Might be able to pick one up for around $60 inc GST.

Any standard MCE USB recever will do fine. I'd keep checking TradeMe or try http://home.acquire.co.nz/acquire/default.asp?PageID=ProductDetail&pf%5Fid=1467245&dept%5Fid=1400020 ($55).

I got mine with my PVR150MCE card and I use a Harmony 525 to control the entire system (HTPC, HardDdisk Recorder, VCR, CD player, Receiver, TV, Projector, Screen, Light DImmer). Works a treat too. I'm using GBPVR at the moment, but have used MediaPortal and MCE too. Good luck!
