Hi guys,

Just relaunching my HTPC project after a year on hold, and was wondering what the best option is.  All I want to do at this stage is run everything via HDMI to my V-series Bravia from a P4 3.0ghz PC - will add a BD-ROM player soon too.  Not interested in recording TV at this stage, so will be using the latest release of XBMC for linux as it supports VDPAU.

From what I remember last time I looked only ATI cards could play sound over HDMI natively; is this still the case?  My first choice card is an Asus EN9400GT Silent, but as my MoBo doesn't have an S/PDIF header, I'll just have to stick to a basic audio output if I go this way.

Any recommendations?
