Andrew cnz. I want to be able to set my Philips VTR to record a programme overnight while I'm tucked up in bed. What settings do I use for the VTR and how do I pre-programme My Sky to record to the VTR rather than to the My Sky HDisk?

You simply set the Philips to record in timer mode in exactly the same manner as you would to record from its analog tuner but you choose the AV input as the source. Are you saying that you have know idea how to use your VCR??, can you be bothered to read manual or do we read it for you and provide key by key instructions???

As for the mySky, you can't tell it to record to anything (as if Sky would build in such a feature), you merely connect the composite video out to your VCR. Given Sky SD is on par with VHS you shouldn't notice any drop in quality.

Thanks Ultimate Geek, I now have it working - I didn't have 'AV In' available, just a choice of 'AV In Rear' or 'AV In Front'. I chose rear because that's where the yellow, red and white jacks are plugged in. As for reading the manual; you might find such tomes comprehensible, I do not. Most such manuals appear to me to be written by people with degrees in non-communication. That's why 'Dummies Guides' are so popular!
