so, as of friday night (when i noticed it) i get these lines across my 46inch bordeaux screen: the image behind these lines is in varying degrees of focus.

samsung fuzzy example 1

samsung fuzzy example 2

This occurs only when the screen is first turned on, and lasts anywhere from 10mins to half an hour. Occurs on multiple inputs (well, UHF and HDMI, which is all i use, didnt see a reason to dig out any RCA cables) and on menu screens aswell.

I have been in touch with samsung this morning (as its only 13 months old it's still under the 2 year manufacturer warrantee). I must say that so far i'm impressed with their phone support team, and am now waiting for a phone call from one of their service techs to arrange a time to have a look at it.

Just thought i'd make a thread about my experience as it happens given i know theres a few samsung panel owners around these forums.

More info as it happens.

***UPDATE***

Just had a call from a Samsung Technician, who will be dropping by tomorrow to check it out. Not a lightning-fast response by any means, but in my experience these things can feasibly take a lot longer for low priority intermittent faults like mine - so not complaining at all.

More news as it happens.

sorry for the delay in updates (incase anyone is actually following)

Tech showed up and had a quick look (on time, i might add). Seemed to know the problem the moment i switched it on. Ordered a part which he said pending warehouse stock could realistically take up to a month to arrive. Good to know i guess.

3 or 4 working days later i had a call from the tech again asking to drop by the following day to replace the problematic part. Who am i to say no? i wasnt home for the repair but my flatmate said they were punctual and only there for an hour at the most, and the problem has been completely resolved as far as i can tell.

All i have on my copy of the work order is "replaced panel assembly". I would have asked more questions, but anything more in-depth than that would have gone right over my head.

100% satisfied with the service. The techs were friendly and no-nonsense... the proof will be in the pudding... will it happen again? we'll see... but that's what the extended warrantee is for :)

4 out of a possible 5 stars.

I had good service (a few years ago now I guess) with Samsung. A guy came out to replace a part in our LCD TV. Hadn't had the TV all that long, but I was stoked not to have to drop the TV off somewhere. :-)

My experience with Samsung was similar, the manner in which the call centre dealt to my issue was terrible but once I got past them all other Samsung personal I dealt with were excellent. I even got a quick follow-up phonecall/survey a week or so later to get feedback on my experience, Samsung were very professional I thought other than the initial tone set by the call centre.

Here's hoping they will review the call centre and make the necessary changes to step it into line with the rest of the company
