Just bought a M600PVR so I can record FTA. Already have a DM500s which is great.  Thought I would do an image backup just in case.  Used Flashwizard and all appeared to go OK.  When I turned the box back on, Nothing!!.
Friend suggested I download the Pli Jade 3image and flash the box. which I did using Universal Dreamup.  From waht I've heard and read the 500 & 600 differences are mainly the HDD capability of the 600.  Is it possible to use a 500 image to flash the 600?  If so how?  The 500 files are .img while the 600 are .nfi

no, each box has it's own image.  Each box must have the image designed for it.

did you flash it using a serial cable or over the network?

do this

power your dreambox down
connect the serial cable
start up flashwizard
tell it to connect
power up dreambox
and load the DM600 image

this should work

you must use the DM600 image.

sorry, this is off the top of my head, so you will have to follow them with a bit of imagination.

if you want more help, you need to provide a bit more info.
