Or a popcorn hour C200 should be able to do it. PS3 might be better value though.

The PS3 is probably the best value for money gadget I have purchased for a long time, and I don't play games on it

I'm on a mac, use a utility called PS3 server and media link which allows me to access all the drives. PS3 server will transcode any codecs that the ps3 can't handle (MKV files) most other files are no problems (dvix etc). $600 is a lot, I paid more last year. Got a appletv sitting in a draw because the PS3 made it redundant.
It also upscales all video, so what seems poor quality on the mac actually looks a lot better on the PS3.

A media device capable of BluRay is probably similar price. The only advantage is that they don't require transcoding... Warehouse did have a $300 bluray player.....

Why buy a dodgy Transonic from Warehouse when you can get a decent Panasonic for only $299 from HN ?

Didn't realise real ones were that price. Not in the market for one so never looked (I have a USB bluray drive)
