Can anyone suggest any other way apart from the IPOD AV cable which is around $90 ?

Hi,
Is this just for sound, or do you need video as well?
Because for sound only, just a Jack-RCA cable will do the trick and will be cheap as chips...

well, the following would do the trick (and will work with anything, not only ipods)
