Hello All,

First time posting on this site, it has been absolutely invaluable for me in the past!

Looking to buy a TV and a home theatre system and have done a fair amount of research on the topic, but would love your advice in choosing.

Options for TV:

LG LH90 LED LCD, 47", $3700 from JB with a free 32" tv that we will sell.
Panasonic G10, 50", price to be determined
Samsung B6000, $3987 from JB w/ Blu Ray player and 22" TV

Any others that you guys can recommend around that price range?  I understand the pany is a plasma, but its colours are outstanding.

Options for HT:

Bose V20, $3800 from Bose
Any others??

Thanks heaps in advance!

I have the Panasonic G series plasma - it is very good. I spent a fair bit of time researching to find what was for me the "sweet spot" of value / features vs. price. I haven't had cause to regret my decision.

Personally, I don't like Bose - more marketing hype than true audio quality/value delivery.

I use & like Yamaha av receiver/amps.

Golden rule is for you to listen to the various components / combinations before you buy them.

kind regards Andrew TD

Should be able to pick up the G10 Plasma for around $2500 with a bit of haggling. The stock is running low in places though. JB in Botany Downs run out until mid Jan, however Harvey Norman still have them in stock.
Looks to be a great TV will be getting one in the next few weeks.

Agreed, G10 is a nice tv.
The samsung plasmas, 650 & 850 anyway are meant to be quite good if not quite as nice as the g10.
That bose system seems to be just a really overpriced HTIB. For that kind of money you shouldn't consider anything other than an AV reciever and seperate speakers.
I'm partial to pioneer AV recievers but you should do a bit of research like going into various stores and seeing/hearing whats there and reading reviews etc because thats a lot of money to base on one sales/persons opinion

Desktop: i7 920, GTX 275, asus P6T, antec 1200, 6gb ram, 1tb spinpoint f1, 1tb spinpoint f3, Logitech Z2300, Zero DAC, Shure SRH440
Laptop: Toshiba satellite, T5300, Go 7300
Home Theatre: 32" loewe CRT, Harmon kardon amp, dvd player, image 418 speakers, rega planar 25 turntable :)

Cheers guys for all your help.

Going to pick up the G10 today from JB for $2500, they're throwing in an extended warranty as well.

I agree with regard to sound, going to talk to the guys at the listening post in hamilton, hopefully they can help us out, then will look at reviews on the net.

Thanks again.
