I have just bough a second hand TV Sony Wega trinitron 28'' KV SA282M31 with no manual. I manage to connect sky to it but when I try to connect the VCR sony SLV E830 either directly to the TV and through Sky it just does not work.

The TV has only RC plugs 3 videos and 1 DVD and one more on the front while my VCR has 2 sparc plugs at the back and one RC on the front.

I had connected that way:

wall plug of sky connected to sky decoder  - sky (sparc) connected to vcr (sparc) then vcr (sparc adapter for RC) to RC TV and VCR connected to TV with aerial type cable.

As it did not work I tried the video directly on to the TV without sky so I could watch VHS videos. I connected vcr sparc with adapter RC to RC TV video 1 and aerial type cable from video to TV but connecting video 1 channel nothing happen. Somehow there is no function on video 1 to go through chanels to find the vcr chanel while on the vcr the chanel 37 is set up to be the video one. I tried to find the chanel vcr on chanel 2 of the tv  and I had the blue picture Sony vcr but when trying to play a video it was just grey with lines.

Any ideo what I am doing wrong or if I need any other cable. It might be something simple but without manual for the TV I'm a bit lost.

Thx. Byzance

I've tried the vcr with another TV. I plug vcr through sparc adapter to rc tv and aerial out vcr to aerial tv. Not working.
I also tried vcr rc in the front pannel to rc front panel of the TV and aerial and still not working. I ran the vcr through a chanel of the TV and run the full range in aucto of VHF and UHF while playing a video to find chanel and answer was no chanel found.
