Hi,

Has anyone used

http://rapalloav.co.nz/product/1233/HDMI-Splitter/HDMI-Splitter/

http://jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp?ID=AC1620&keywords=ac1620

Any probs?

Want to use with a TV and a Projector.
Splitter to be installed after a receiver, so hopefully only switching video output. (Receiver to handle all audio).

System will be PS3 - Onkyo 576 - Splitter - Samsung LCD TV & Panasonic Projector.
Technically only want one output at a time as TV will be wall mounted with Screen coming down over TV for projector use.  However I don't want to have to do anything stupid like turn off TV first etc as want all control to be easy via harmony remote.

Regards,
Jaxson

This is a powered splitter (not passive) so both displays will work at the same time if desired. There have been no known issues with this splitter, often there isnt with any these days. The only problems which all HDMI splitters and switchers can have is incompatibilty problems with "some" equipment, but not so often these days.

There is nothing stupid you have to do as mentioned, that only happens with non powered passive switchers and splitters.

I have used the Jaycar one for six months now for MySky HDi and it works flawlessly with a Harmony 785.

Thanks Guys, really appreciate the feedback.

I have pretty standard equipment so don't anticipate any hicups, just wanted to be sure.
I get the powered vs passive hdmi splitters so all good there.

Technically I'll never run both at the same time but just needed to make sure that it wouldn't cause any problems if I switched displays whilst one was already going sort of thing.

Cheers all.

Both displays would work at the same time if you wanted them to, if not it doesnt matter. If both displays are on and say you change from one input to the other, both displays may take different times to display the new image, but thats just the HDMI handshake and would happen with any brand of switcher and splitter anyway!
