Hi I am looking at getting a DVB-S Tuner card and hooking it up but wondering what the best set up would be, I am looking at getting the dual tuner card mentioned in a different thread. We have a standard sky decoder in the lounge, the coaxial connection out will pass on channel to another TV from what I understand. Is it possible to connect one of the tuner connection to a splitter going to the dish and the other going to the coax out on the sky dish so I can get one sky channel and then the full set of freeview channels. Is there any problems doing this or is there a better way?

If I read your post correctly then no, it won't work.
The dual tuner dvb-s card will only accept signal from a satellite feed, you can't connect the coax output from the Sky decoder to it and tune in an analogue signal to get whatever channel is currently showing on the Sky decoder.

If you want to do that then you would need to get a card like the Hauppauge HVR-3000 or 4000 which can take a satellite dvb-s feed and also an analogue coax feed.  I think the problem with those cards is that they are a single tuner only so you wouldn't be able to record a freeview channel and the Sky channel at the same time.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.
