Hi all,

I'm in the process of replacing my antiquated HTPC with a Mac Mini running Windows 7. I'm going to get a new (USB) TV tuner, preferably one that supports Freeview. If possible I'd like to get a dual tuner (although this isn't the end of the world, assuming I could just get two single tuners and plug them in together...)

One slight complexity is that I'll be moving to Melbourne later in the year, so whatever I get will need to work there too. However I understand (from another forum post) that any Freeview which works in NZ should work in Australia with their Freeview too.

So, can anyone recommend a decent USB tuner to get?

Thanks in advance,

John

I was using a Hauppagge HVR900 on my Media Center before moving to an HDHomeRun and it worked fine.

Thanks! Did you use it with Windows 7, by any chance? (I've seen a few mutterings around the intertubes that its drivers don't play 100% nicely with Windows 7.)

Yes, used it on Windows 7 64 bit, no problem.

What Mac Mini are you using? I assume it's a newer one that has the GPU to support Freeview|HD?

Hmm, good point... I have a mid 2007 model, which according to the Apple site (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3476) doesn't have a GPU :(

Back to the drawing board...
