Possibly in SHOP Mode instead of HOME Mode.  Does the owner's manual address how to reset the TV to factory defaults so you can get it into HOME if that is the case?

Edit: Just had a quick look at the OM of a different Samsung Tellie and if yours is the same it is accessed in the Setup menu and requires a PIN.

I'm afraid I can't help as I'm in a similar situation. I bought a Samsung LA40C650 a few weeks ago and mine loses the channel settings every couple of days. I haven't taken it back yet. You can reset everything back to factory settings(it's in the manual).

The pin number for your tellie 'should' be 0000.
Try a picture reset and see if things sort themselves out.
