Hi i was looking at a BD player that can be incorporated as a media center which can play/support numerous file extensions (mkv, etc) from an external HDD, and as the title states i was wondering if the 370 is up to the task.

I will be looking at purchasing a "supported sony wi fi dongle" to connect to my wifi router though i was wondering if i can record freeview (built in from tv) to the player to the external HDD.

If not please point me in the right direction.

(nt since the tv tuner doesnt have a record function does that mean i cannot record full stop without a DVR like system?)

Cheers

The BDP-S370 is a good (IMHO) player that can play some video formats via USB or DLNA. But it has no recorder function. You will most likely need a separate PVR - which can then play back your recordings.
