Hi guys

Weird little problem here, rebuilt a relatives HTPC a little while ago with new HDD, RAM and Windows 7.  They took it home and plugged it back in and now the screen goes blank when they switch to a different input on the amp.  But it doesnt happen all the time.  They can presst CTRL+ALT+DEL but when they click task manager the screen just goes blank again.  To get around it they have to restart.  Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

This was happening to a friend, newer video drivers sorted it out, but it still messes around heaps when changing inputs to/from the PC.

Yeah thought it was that so I installed very latest Nvidia drivers, still no luck.

I had it my place for over a week testing it, played videos for 3 days straight and didnt have that problem.  But I just had it plugged into a monitor with my PC setup.  I think it may have something to do with AV/AMP setup

The AVR will be renegotiating the HDMI malarkey when you change input, that has an effect on the video decode etc which will normally interrupt it.

Ok anyway around this?  It use to be fine when the same computer had XP installed.

See if you can turn off HDCP on the output of the video card. I would google for some suggestions but am a little busy.

I have the same probem 50% of the time when switching back from my PS3.
I have a feeling it has something to do with the screen saver or power settings as when I switch back when it is working things are going as normal eg. Live TV running etc.  When not and I put it to sleep & wake up again it goes to the Media Center screen saver (photo's)

Also running Windows 7

I have it happen once in a blue moon. There is a way to bring it back but I think it involved ending the MC process or maybe alt tab'ing. Not really ideal.
For me it has happened so seldom I have never spent any time trying to sort out a fix. As already suggested I would make sure the monitor is not set to switch off in Windows and maybe turn off HDCP although that may cause other issues.

Card doesnt seem to have HDCP, nothing in the Nvidia Control panel.
