have a pansonic bd60 bluray player and  a older technics amp when audio comes via centre speaker at times there is a funny noise when they speak like a deep thud of sorts not all the time and not all movies only happens on dts not dolby digital  connected via a optical cable from bluray to amp  could it be a problem with the amp/ reciver or possibley the optical cable any help greatly appreciated

Possibly some sort of bass management where it's not crossing over very well for DTS sources?
Do you have a sub in your system?
Do you have any eq options that show the cross over frequency for the centre speaker?

Sorry, just throwing some ideas out there.

no sub just floor standers  not a problem when on dvd only bluray will try turning bass down though c if that helps cheers
