Any particular model that is a good one to go for?

you need multiple LNB's on your sky dish if you want to watch optus b1 and c1 without have to move the dish check out this site http://www.freetv.co.nz/products.htm

cant say that there is anything there that I would want this for - wouldnt a PVR with sky digital be better for channel selection?

yes it would, but this is a one off charge for the reciever, then no monthly costs. Im mainly intrested in the auzzie channels. And one for the bach to get good reception for tv1 and 2
