Home Theatre setup running sweet and hugely impressive so thanks for all your previous help. I'm keen to use a laptop to present some training topics on the projector and am stumped how to do it.
The laptop - Dell D610 appears to have two outputs - Svideo and the normal video out connector - lots of pins in a rectangular plug.
The receiver - Yamaha RX765 appears to have HDMI and component / RCA inputs and coaxial for audio
The projector has hdmi and svideo but I'm keen to run everything through the receiver as it keeps wires, items and operation cleaner. It also means I dont need to chance falling through the ceiling again as I run yet another several metres of cabling. Basically if I get the laptop also running through the receiver then everything is out of sight.
Currently the projector is driven via HDMI from the receiver - 1 cable only.
How do I connect the Svideo into the receiver inputs ( which surprised me in their limited range ).
Would it be svideo to RCA ? and would that give a clear signal and what would I use for sound given it appears to be a small 3.5mm plug on laptop?
If that makes sense help would be appreciated
