This really makes me want to switch from MP to XBMC

and it would probably run on those $100NZ tablets from dealextreme

have you tried iPiMP plugin for MP? Gives full remote for MP.

not yet, but ipimp is web based rather than a dedicated app, and no where near as good as this. (altho it does do streaming which this app doesn't)
