Hi.

I have just donated my old Yamaha DSP-A1000 pro-logic receiver to my brother, and am hoping for some maintenance advice. (This is the original Prologic reliever, not the new RX-A1000)

The Selector switch is a multi-pole rotary switch (motorised), and has intermittent contacts requiring a “Jiggle” to get sources to work in stereo. The amp in this receiver is still in good order and seems a waste to throw away. Can any service techs give me a little advice to get a little more life out of this reciever?

I believe that the contacts in the early A1000s were lead coated and were a weakness. Later shipments and spares used gold. What is the best contact cleaner and/or lubricant to use on the lead contact version of this switch ? Caig Faderlube (was MCL), or Caig Deoxit Gold or other?

Anyone know where I could possibly get Yamaha spare parts? The US stockists don't supply outside the US. I am trying Sound Group Holdings & Yamaha Australia, but don't hold out too much hope.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Regards Allen.
