I have noticed a big improvement in speed in networking in particular, good work team. Smile

The release of MediaPortal 1.1.0 was a big success. Now, it is already time to release version 1.1.1, as planned.

This release fixes some small, but very annoying problems in the 1.1.0 version.

The alpha release of version 1.2.0 is already well underway. We created a separate branch for the 1.1.1 bug fix release, to allow us to continue with the development of 1.2.0 at the same time.

Partial list of changes:

    * 0003047: [general] GUITextureManager deadlock
    * 0002983: [TV-Server] Case sensitive SQL installations fail with an exception
    * 0003040: [My Videos] very slow browsing speed in shared folders which contain many files
    * 0002989: [Radio Guide] when scrolling down in "channeldetail view", the day does not change
    * 0003003: [My Music] Improved speed of Music Database Scan
    * 0002973: [My Weather] in Blue3Wide, weather text overlaps the weather icon
    * 0002991: MPTray.exe locks the MPTray.log file
    * 0002994: [WatchDog] Unable to browse to set folder with watchdog due to invalid characters in filename
    * 0002992: [general] MediaInfo: delay on AVI with AC3 codec introduced after v0.7.26
    * 0002969: [general] MiniDisplay: MatrixOrbital driver locks DVD/CD tray
    * 0002981: [general] Memory left indication is wrong when PC has more than 2GB RAM
    * 0002980: [Installer] Sometimes font installation fails
    * 0002984: [Installer] Crash with filenames containing special characters (ascii code > 127)

Installation notes:

You can upgrade your existing 1.1.0 installation to 1.1.1.

There were no changes which require an update of an installed extension, either skin or plugin.

Thank goodness for that....Ive had nothing but trouble since moving to 1.1.0 final.

I had many, mnay trouble free months with RC5 and RC6 but the final has seen it crash almost every night when watching tv or a movie. Ive almost got to the point where I thought about W7's MC !

I decided to test upgrade. Completed manual uninstall of MP & MPTVServer with recommended standard uninstall, as I don't trust executable uninstall process due to past issues.

New upgrade is working perfectly. Noticed a slight increase in load time, specifically loading of Windows plugins is faster. Also upgraded preferred skin: StreamedMP.

I upgraded from 1.1.0 Final to 1.1.1 and it has worked flawlessly for a few weeks now.

It is working happily on the main HTPC and two 'client-only' PCs that the kids use. I don't think the family even noticed.

It just works! :-)
