My Apple TV arrived this morning - a wee black box of JOY.

I watched a movie via Apple TV today (Men Who Stare At Goats - GREAT!) and feeling all great at how marvelous this is when some downer mate told me that it would be costing me the earth to stream.  I hadn't given it a single thought.  So - can someone tell me, please? How many movies before I have eaten up my 40gig allowance?

Thanks

Just look at the iTunes app and it will show you. Standard Definition movies will be between 1 GB and 1.5 GB each. TV shows will be about 500 MB each.

Double that for High Definition.

Gosh that is quite a lot, bummer.  I had kinda thought they would arrive zipped or something ...

Oh well ... still as funky as a funky thing.

Thanks a lot.

Just interested in the cost of that movie, because it's also available via the Tivo CASPA service where it's NZ$6.95

Hi there

I am pretty sure it was $5.99 ... I was in a hurry to try it out so didn't really take a lot of notice.

Well worth it ... :-)

I have compared caspa, zune and itunes movie service. tbh caspa is hopeless in front of zune and itune's movie selection for NZ accounts.

Do whatever you want to do man.

If enough people start using them I assume ISPs that are well up to speed with caching stuff (eg. Slingshot) will start to cache popular content and maybe offer it free as an incentive to customers. Similar to iSky.
