Ok so i have the Logitech X-530 5.1 surround sound speakers. Have them all connected and everything into my MS-7184 motherboard which has AC97 audio . Its connected all goodly, but the middle speaker wont seem to work, it thinks its a sub and on the audio control panel when i click it it makes the sub noise. All the rear speakers and front work goodly though so can some 1 please help me! :)

Thanks
Blake

Does the sub have adjustable crossover? If so, what's it set on?

There is an option in most audio control panels to swap the sub and rear channels, and some speakers have switches to swap them over.

I believe it was creative that decided to swap them over at some stage.

Ok thats strange, I have seen it in the past on my old machine with a realtek AC97 device on it.

Check you have the whole lot of audio drivers installed, not just whatever windows pulls from windows update for the device.

Yea with the realtek thing ive tried out like 3 version of the drivers and none seemed to work. Could it just be my speakers? like the middle 1 does work if i use my adapter to make my sound 2.1

Otherwise get a 3.5mm to RCA and a RCA to 3.5mm adapter, and plug them in the other way around to swap the left and right channels to get it working right.

I've only ever run analog 5.1 into a reciver so just swapped over the RCAs at the recievers inputs..

Will a local shop like Jcar electronics sell something like that? ive already got a adapter thing that turns the 3 plugs into AV but that only makes the sound 2.1

except the second one needs to go to a female 3.5mm, and I have had a lot of problems with those style of adapters - the shield is just pressing on the side of the RCA jack internal to them.
