Does anyone know where I can buy PDL products in the Hutt area? I'm after the PDL 640MWH RCA modules? Just trying to save a few bucks from buying them online and paying freight costs.

You could try any of the electrical wholesalers. There are a few on Hutt Road and from memory some on Pretoria St too.

Had thought of those, but most say 'Trade Only'. I phoned one and got a price of $11.40, so did some Googling and ordered online at $5.27+GST. Thanks anyway.

Yeah, they never seem to be that fussy about who or what "Trade" is.  If you ask nicely you'll even get a "Trade" discount although it never seems to be very much.  $5.27+ seems like a pretty good price.

For anyone interested, I bought them from Electrical Direct (http://electricaldirectltd.co.nz/ecommerce.php?func=44&)

Mastertrade will let anyone buy from them, even though they are a wholesaler, but I don't think you are saving that much by buying from them. Any electrical company would probably match or better the prices. I think there are pretty good margins on that sort of thing, due to the price differences I have seen when getting quotes. I am not a fan of PDL, since we have had problems with their sockets failing after a short period, and they were expensive ones.

robbyp - Mastertrade was my first thought, but unfortunately the one in Lower Hutt dropped all their electrical stuff some months back.

As for PDL, I'm just finishing off what the electrician started, and I'm none the wiser on an alternative source for this sort of thing. It would be interesting to know if there are other alternatives to PDL out there, for the future.

Clipsal were recommended by my electrician, but I beleive they are made or imported by the same company Schneider Electric, that owns PDL.
