hi there,
-
using the latest stable release of Media Portal, i use AC3Filter for audio decoder and MPC - MPA decoder for aac. however when i play mkv files with a audio stream (DTS at 1510 Kbps, 6 channels, 48.0 KHz) my speakers make glitch klitch noises, i noticed if i use a differet aac decoder (pdvd, coreaac, monogram) this doesnt happen but my amp only sees this as 2 channel.

Hi,

You state the DTS sound is being played by AC3Filter, is this verified by an app like Graphedit? If not sure, check as sometimes codecs will double up or even play different to what the user believes, especially if ffdshow is installed.

What version of AC3Filter are you using? Have you tried another codec capable of DTS playback? Have you also tried playback via a software player outside of Mediaportal or inside Graphedit?

That's enough for now Laughing

if i open these files in graph edit i see ffdshow for video and ac3filter for audio. i played the files in splashHD pro which is capable of HD playback and the files play fine and my amp indicates DTS
