Hey - what the?

Internet TV just popped up on my Windows Media Center!

I searched for this topic in the forum and found the post from Freitasm (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=84&topicid=60083 ) who experienced the same event.

I've just cleared the channels in WMC in preparation for loading the stuff from EPG Collector and BigScreenEPG, and I suspect that Mauricio would have done the same on his boxes at some time in the past. -- I might try a test on another PC, but whatever the cause, I'm glad it's hear (unless it eats my d/l limit in a half-hour.

Yes, but the question is - do you actually get to watch any content?

Haven't you changed the locale through Control Panel for something else? In my experience this is the only way you get to see this Internet TV listings... And even so I couldn't get to watch anything with "not available in your country" coming up...

Might be interesting to try our Tor or another proxy setup with that.

I could change the Locale on my box and use the VPN I have been using to test Geekzone from other locations...

Hmmm - well, I got so excited by all those pretty pictures I didn't bother to check - but I'll try both your ideas and see how we go.

I also see a new little icon in the task window for WMC and a new option that I've been hanging out for since forever -- "Update Now" - and about bloody time.

I've had the internet TV working for about 6 months now. Also added Hulu into Media centre.
To watch content you need a VPN, i just use Hotspot shield - free and fast (8Gb/month limit)

Brilliant - thanks Rollux - I tried Tor, and almost had it until NetFlix demanded Silverlight and then it blew up.

Netflix and Hulu can sometimes detect and block with some VPNs - Hotspot seem to keep on top of this tho.
I have found by signing up with a US address and phone number seems to calm them down. I now only use the VPN to log in then just use my standard connection to stream.
