Hello All

I have been extracting a couple of DVDs in our collection to watch on my netbook, and have been saving them in .iso images, but I can't get them to open in WMP. We have XP & WMP11, and while I could install VLC I want to maintain 1 program for my music & movies. WMP is also the easiest method of putting music onto my Walkman MP3.
So, does anybody know where I can get codecs to play .iso/.vob file in WMP?

Thanks
Vincent.

I use My Movies which integrates well with Windows Media Player. It has instructions for running ISO's.

Cheers, Matt

And ISO is a "raw" copy of the/any DVD (or CD for that matter), rather than a copy of the movie itself.

You've got at least a couple of options:
1. Rip the movie into AVI/WMV/MKV format using the likes of Handbrake and throw away the ISO
2. Mount the ISO using a virtual drive tool like Daemon Tools. Then WMP will see it like a normal DVD.

My Movies auto mounts ISO's in Windows Media Center. There is a wiki on it here

I think you are getting confused, the OP is talking about Media Player not Media Center, two differnet things.
The OP might not even have Media Center.

@VinLew - I would use VirtualCloneDrive to mount the ISO and then it will appear as a normal DVD to Windows.

After a bit of Googling I came across a free app from Microsoft for mounting .iso files, so that should do the job; it just means I will have several virtual drives listed in My Computer. I don't have Windows Media Center, as WMPlayer does the job. Thanks for the help though Laughing
