hi guys im having trouble with our new bgt3595 card. We cant get it to tune into any dvbs in dvblink tvsource or windows media center. media center gives us a error saying that no signal is detected and tvsource says tuning failed while we are doing a scan and yes we have the floppy power connector pluged in and the red led is on lol

were running i3 h55musb3 with a clean install of win 7 64 and all the latest drivers and bios installed

Are you sure you're using the correct LNB parameters? The other thing to check would be to make sure that you're tuning with the correct tuner (unless you've got both plugged in)...

[Edit: also, I seem to recall that many of the satellite transponders details for Optus D1/D2 in the WMC satellite config file were wrong.]

hi i have just confirmed my suspicions that there is no power getting to the lnb. I have just moved the htpc into the bedroom for testing and found that i can tune while the sky box is powering the the lnb and spliting the signal to the htpc, any ideas on forcing power to the lnb?

I would have thought it should just work...
Having said that, I know that my cards (2 x Pinnacle 7010ix, which are almost the same as Blackgold BGT3540s - I use the BGT3540 drivers) have some hidden settings in the registry. Try searching your registry for "LNBPower".

Note: I don't encourage changing registry settings unless you know what you are doing!

If you are using a splitter make sure it supports power from all inputs. Some have one master input for power and do not accept power from any of the other inputs.

If you look at this splitter not it describes passing out on all ports.

Are you sure the power connector at the top of the PCB board is supplying power correctly?
On some motherboards PCI-E slots are disabled depending on whether there is a crossfire setup etc. Try changing the PCI-E slot the card is inserted in or remove a 2nd graphics card if installed.

Another good point from Nety, check the splitter is supplying power too.

Not that it is any consolation, but I have had nothing but trouble with mine in picking up the DVB-S2 channels. The DVB-S ones work fine but even with the latest drivers, the DVB-S2 tuners will fail after a period of time and you will get the 'No tuners Available' message.

Hey guys it turns out it was the card being faulty. A mate came round this morning with his 3595 and it works fine. We have sent an email to blackgold and will be sending it back for a replacement so fingers crossed that it will work out ok. Thanks for all your help.
