Sounds like something to do with the AC3 stream on TV3 not being processed properly. I'd have another look at your PS3 audio settings and make sure they're compatible with your amplifier/receiver, and if that all looks tip top then make sure the amp is playing nice with everything.

It'll have something to do with 5.1 vs stereo and stuff i'd think.

Brilliant, thank you I adjusted the PS3 settings and then on my amp. Took a fair bit of tinkering so i was starting to get a bit concerned.

Another issue tho - Do you know anything about the 7 or 13 day EPG? Cause right now when I skip forward through the days there is "no info" :-(
I must be doing sumthing else wrong!

Many Thanks

The new PlayTV update ruins a bunch of channels epg listings and has made it a worthless option for many. Who wants half an epg anyway? Fingers crossed Sony will play nice with Sky and Mediaworks to get it sorted sometime soon as it really does ruin the whole experience. I'm sure there must be a work around (Others will know more) but i don't know enough.

Brilliant, thank you I appreciate all your thoughts/help/feedback.
It is rather disappointing because its advertised with a "7 day EPG" right on the box! However I have nothing like that. I really do hope they fix that soon!

I ran into a similar problem to you a while back and finally figured out that I had somehow knocked the A/B speaker button on my amp which turned off my main front speakers completely.Embarassed

Regarding the EPG issue:
If you purchased the PlayTV unit in NZ it should have included a redeemable code inside the box that enables you to download the NZ specific PlayTV update from the PS Store. All you need to do is go to the PS Store and enter the code in the "Redeem Codes" area.

Once you have applied the updates from the PS Store you will have to do a full channel rescan, after which you should be prompted to accept the Terms and Conditions for tvtv ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tvtv_Services ).
PlayTV should then download the latests EPG listings from the internet automatically after that.

This doesn't, however, fix the Mediaworks (TV3, C4) and Prime EPG listings.

I suggest you check out this well established thread on the PlayTV unit.
It might answer some of your questions.
