Hi I was wondering if anyone knew of any recurring problems with Panasonic DVD/VHS players losing their regionalized settings.  The DVD/VHS player seems to have suddenly stopped recognizing Region 4 DVDs and will also not recognize older Region 1 DVDs that were working in this system only last week.

The Panasonic website seems to direct you back to the retailer and the retailer (Hill & Stewart) haven't returning phonecalls.  Any help would be appreciated.

Not recognising more than one disc could be a laser problem? And how old is the product? If it's under warranty then there could be no space left for the retailer "not to return the phone calls"...

Is it possible they are enforcing the regioning (ie, is not multi-region) and you have exceeded the 5 changes allowed? Swapping back and forth between region 1 and region 4 discs is a classic way to encounter this.
