Hi all,

I had this issue a while back and can't remember how I solved it.

I have WMC7(64bit) running to a Sony Bravia via HDMI and the info banner will no longer turn off. When using the remote button it will turn off for about 5 sec and then reappear... this is very annoying.

As I said this has happened before and I was able to fix it but just can't remember what i did... bugger!!

W7Pro 64Bit
NVidia GTX260

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

It might sound silly but have you tried cycling through the info button on your remote to see if it goes away with one of the toggle settings? The info button usually looks like an 'i' with some horizontal lines next to it... If this button doesn't exist on your remote then disregard that suggestion.

As above it is the i+ button on the original remote. Has happened to me a couple of times although I am not sure how as I do not use the original remote and I do not have a i+ button mapped on the Harmony remote I do use.

As I said in my post, I've tried that button but it pops back up about 5 sec later. I believe it has something to do with the HDMI handshaking, I think I had to do something on the HTPC rather than the TV to fix it.

Yeah you did make it clear that you already tried the i+ button.  How did we all miss that....

Yip sorry missed that somehow. Sorry I have only seen it when it is the i+ button.

Hmm, sorry, re-reading the post would have been a good start before posting huh.

In the Bravia menu is there a "Setup" area? And inside that is there a "Info Banner" option which you can turn off.

There seem to be posts on the AVS forums with people noticing the banner will reappear randomly, some believe it occurs when there are 'glitches' with the signal, but others feel that it's just an oddity with the TV itself.

*shrug*
