Hi,

I have a zinwell freeview box which is hooked into my current XP MCE box via a composite video cable.

I have used a variety of sources for epg including reven, freeview, etc.

They are all slowly disappearing (legal stuff i believe)

Currently am using nzepg.org but it is now missing heaps of channels?

I do not have access to satellite feed as I am connected via a composite cable to set top box so please don't suggest the EPG Collector! (although the zinwell box has an rs232 port on the back)

What I am after is a update on nzEPG.org or a new more reliable source.
Does anyone know if there is a paid source out there that is up to date (similar to getting the tv guide at the newstand)

PS: I am going to upgrade to win 7 shortly so would like a solution for that as well (I don't intend buying another tuner card)

Cheers

Jim

IceTV is your best option.

If you were to actually buy a tuner card then you can use EPG Collector to extract the Freeview EPG direct from the MHEG5 data in the transport stream.

But then I would have two tuners (do I really need two tuners)

I will look into iceTV, but they look like they have limited channels ie only tvnz6 and tvnz7??

Cheers

IceTV supports all NZ FTA channels.

Whether you want 2 tuners is entirely up to you. Recording TV via an external STB is very much a hack though and you'll experience far superior picture quality when you're recording straight from a TV card along with not needing to change channels on the STB before you record.
