I've got a project on the go at the moment to build a low power tv server (more details to follow) and will require a USB DVB-T tuner to capture Freeview. Have been looking across all retailers and TradeMe and there is a massive difference in price. I'm intending to stay well clear of the cheap $20 units on TradeMe but is it worth spending $100+ on a Hauppauge tuner?

I found the following unit at Elive, and suits my criteria (USB, DVB-T and Linux support), is there anything else I need to consider? (don't want or need the remote)

All DVB tuners do is dump the MPEG TS to the PC - there is very little differnece between them except for tuner performance.

There are a few dual usb tuners around now. Would be worth spending a few extra dollars if you can find one that meets your other requirements.

Be really careful I bought the dual tuner Hauppage nova usb card and it would lag in tv every 30 seconds (similar setup to you using atom/nvidia ion).

I recently upgraded to 2 elgato elite's and it's fixed (they were pricey though).

Just make sure you realise that's why they are lagging fast and take them back that's the mistake I made as at first I thought it could have been the atom, then the reception.
