Hi Guys,

I'm planning on getting some new speakers in the next few days and I'm stuck between two completely different setups and brands. So my brother has some Logitech x-540's he doesn't need which I can purchase off him for $80. I've been trying them out a bit, playing some music, some 5.1 games and they're not bad, the music doesn't sound that great from them though.

And the other speakers I'm looking at are Edifier C2 2.1's and will cost about a $140ish, the best part about them is the separate amp and the remote.http://www.fishpond.co.nz/Electronics/Computing/Computer_Accessories/PC_Speakers/6923520260645/?cf=3&rid=1350819304&i=1&keywords=edifier+c2

5.1 isn't really necessary due to the room size they will be in and the cables  and extra speakers would be a bit cluttering.I've personally come to believe that the edifier's will have better quality but for the price is it worth it? So tell me what you think, suggestions are welcome, don't really want to spend more than $150.

Thanks in advance

I have some Edifier speakers, they cost about $500 for a 5.1 set that looks bigger than that one. I don't use the two surround speakers. It sounds pretty awesome for computer speakers, better than my $400 Panasonic stereo for sure, but not as good as my Wharfdale Vardus speakers with the Onkyo amp.

Ah i gave some x30s (i think) to my little sister when i upgraded to some Z-5500s.

The Z-5500's are awesome quality and the bass is very very very very loud/deep (Can feel it a house or two down the road - Not on full volume either).

But back OT x30/x40's are great for just general use.

Yeah, at the moment the x540s seem good, I'm loving them compared to my old small 2.1 speakers. Thanks for your replies!
