Hi All
I have just bought on TradeMe Insignia NS-PDP50 TV (50" Plasma) which is NTSC. This is fine as I am using it with my MythTV PC. so far this is working great. However the kids are getting grumpy as the PS2 DVD player and VHS aren't working. DVD play not such a big deal as I am adding DVD to the PC and can upload to hard drive with mythtv but the PS2 and VHS is another story.
Can anyone help is there any way to convert PAL equipment to play on NTSC?
Cheers

NTSC is an analogue broadcast format. The problem is likely that it can't take some or all of the 50Hz modes used in New Zealand but only the 60Hz used in the USA. There are transcoders but that takes a hit on quality and I haven't seen them for sale.

How about upgrading your old VHS to a multi-standard VHS recorder (eg. Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Philips et al) that outputs true NTSC ?

PS2 > multi-std VCR > NTSC TV

Should be able to pick one up cheap on TardMe.
