I'd like to find a pair of decent compact speakers (which can be wall mounted) to replace my existing Klipsch floorstanders which are just too bulky.

We enjoy watching movies, either from DVD or Sky (via TBox) but don't require the ultimate in 7.1 surround sound. I'm happy enough to let our Onkyo Sr702 fake it with a pair of speakers plus centre and sub.

We enjoy music and I want it to sound good, but I'm not an audio snob.

Suggestions?

Budget ?

Wall mounting is usually the kiss of death for good performance unless the speaker was designed for wall mounting.

Kef eggs (KHT series) maybe? Nice clear sound and designed for wallmounting, but can go on stands or shelves too.

Replace your Klipsch floorstanders with some Klipsch Quintetts?
If you want to go to a different brand, try a set of Tannoy's, Kef's, Yamaha's... there's a lot of options out there.
