Just looking at their site and they have Diamond 9.5's for $699.
I believe the Diamonds are quite good speakers?

I have bought from them in the past, they used to get quite a bit of decent used gear thru before trademe killed of that side of the business.

However their stupid statements about parallel imported have added them to my sxxtlist of businesses that I wont deal with. Recently had Harvey norman added to that list too.

I bought gear off them years ago (like 18), was fine. Only retired that gear about 4 years ago. Paul Money has been around for donkey's years - wouldn't still be around if they weren't doing something right.

I brought some 9.1's from Paul Money over trademe, even managed to get a lower buy now price. Service was good, shipping was included in the price and from memory he used Courier Post.

I've spent about 12-14K with them over the years. I would have bought my last 10K worth of stuff from them except I wanted a projector and I found a real expert and he sold me the entire lot for a great price. If I need gear again and they have the brand I want, I'll go back to them.

They also did good aftersales service for me as well, so I can't complain at all.

Paul Money (the actual guy) departed a while ago from memory. This store used to be great for the 'damaged carton' units which for whatever reason didn't make it to retail stores.

North Shore Autosounds are another similar outfit so check them for a cash deal as well. If all else fails head to the big ones like h norman etc who offer finance that the little stores don't.

If you could stretch the budget, go for the Wharfedale Diamond 9.6's - more bang for the buck.

I've owned both and would go the 9.6 every time.  I purchased the surround pack actually and sold the 9.5's and then purchased the 9.6 for a few $ more.

I have dealt with and bought quite a bit of HT gear off Paul Money HiFi in the last 5 or 6 years. I have found John (the owner) and his team great to deal with and only too willing to take the time and effort to understand what you are trying get out of your purchase. They are normally amenable to some bartering, particularly if you become a regular customer. If I have had any problems with some of the gear they have been only to happy to sort it out with the minimum of fuss.

Disclaimer: I do not work for or have any financial or personal interest in Paul Money HiFi.
