Hi Everyone,

I have limited Linux experience and am trying to get the Linux MHEG5 EPG Converter in the sticky on this forum going. Unfortunately I have hit a hurdle fairly early on in that I can't get the Redbutton-Downloader to compile.

It gives me the error "module.C:26 fatal error:zlib.h No such file or directory" when I try and compile it.

Bear in mind I am fairly new to Linux so might be doing something cabbage here.

The box is running Mythbuntu 10.10 64bit

Any help would be much appreciated, I am assuming this is the easiest way to get a 7 day guide going for DVB-T freeview?

Any other thoughts most appreciated.

Thanks

try sudo apt-get install zlib1g-dev If you get anymore compile errors, look for the file name adjacent to the error message, then search online for how to fix that missing file.

Thanks for that,
I managed to get it to compile using your advice.
Unfortunately the rest of it seems over my head. Pity because it would be so awesome to get this going.
Thanks anyway!
