Hi folks,

have run into a bit of trouble, I've just upgraded to Mediaportal 1.1.3 after being on pre-1.1.0 for ages.

I've been running K-lite codec pack and CoreAVC with no issues previously, but after the upgrade I can't get picture or sound for any tv channel, or recorded tv. (videos work fine). The options for codecs in mediaportal have changed a little since my previous version.

Windows XP system, running Mediaportal 1.1.3. CoreAVC and K-lite 7.1.0 codec packs installed.

This is what i have set now
Television Codecs:
MPEG2 : MPC MPEG2
H.264 : CoreAVC
MPEG AC3 : MPC - MPA
LATM AAC : (I don't get any choices, previously i was using MONOGRAM)

What are other people settings for this?

Thanks for your help.

You're definitely going to need to get the Monogram codec (or an alternative) if you want DVB-T to work. CoreAVC for h.264 video should be fine, although other MPEG 2 audio and video codecs (Cyberlink, Intervideo etc.) would possibly be better. To get Monogram:

1. Download it from here.
2. Unzip it and stick it in a folder.
3. Open a terminal (AKA command line or DOS prompt): start->run->type cmd->OK.
4. Use regsvr32 to register the codec: type regsvr32 ".mmaacd.ax".

Let us know if you have any trouble after that...

Reading the original post, the Monogram AAC codec was already installed, but the config for the new version of Mediaportal didn't find it, or didn't allow it to be selected.

If that is the case then try a restart. Changes to codec merit etc. sometimes take a relogin/restart to be picked up by the OS (and hence also by applications that rely on the OS to tell them if a codec is installed). If MP still doesn't pick it up after a restart then I'd suggest you install it again manually as described...

The choice of codec depends on whether you have a graphic card that supports hardware acceleration

Cheers,

restarts didn't help. Mediaportal still didn't give me a choice.

mm1352000: thanks for that link. Used the codec from there and things are back semi-working again. I've got audio/video for the tv signal.

When I installed the new k-lite it un-installed the old one which may have remove/de-registered the original Monogram.

I've run into other problems now. it was working overnight, but now mediaportal has decided not to record shows.

I'd recommend you format your computer and then install all your drivers, then mediaportal. only install saf codec pack which is specifically designed for MP. (It uses ffdshow prodominantly).

If you have a dxva compatible gpu then install saf unlocked version.
If you have a non dxva gpu then install coreavc after saf.
