I have been considering starting a new HTPC project for some time now, and wondered if anyone here would like to help...maybe assist or contribute with/to their own ideas...

I have already built my own HTPC, but now I want to take the next step in evolution...

My idea is to merge a 42 inch HD LCD tv and my old HTPC together....
No more HTPC box....
No more cables....
Just a tv....no one would know otherwise until booted...(like the all in one Mac but bigger and Windows)

It would involve making a custom rear cover panel for my current tv.

It would also be designed in such a way so to allow hard drives to be swapped in and out and put into a portable case/cradle for transport...(just like a server)

I would buy some new parts as required, such as a laptop slot dvd player, rather than using my current 3.5 inch dvd player as keeping it all thin is important...

And the tv's infrared would have to be reconfigured to be able to control all components...tv and pc...
