In my lounge i have xbox360 (HDMI), sky box (scart RGB) feeding a late model Samsung LCD TV.

I also have 2 x Samsung HD 36 inch TV's 1 in my kitchen and 1 in a bedroom.

Problem/Challenge :-

How can i transmit what ever i'm playing in the lounge (currently sky or xbox) to the other 2 TV's?

I looked into the TV signal transmitters/receivers but where would i put the box in the chain of connections in my lounge?

The transmitter would need to take HDMI / RGB or alternatively I'de have to feed it video/audio from the main lounge TV somehow?

I only really need the main lounge setup to feed 1 of the other 2 TV's at a time and only ever in that direction.

must be other people out there in this predicament

can anyone help?

HDMI matrix switch and upgrade your sky would be how I would do it, there are of course cheap anything to hdmi boxes, but my milage with a scart to hdmi one was not pretty, and it would always upscale (and badly) so added lag.

You sure your scart to the TV is RGB? not seen that on any locally sold ones, just component, which also has plenty of adapters to HDMI available if you look on ebay etc.

opps yeah SKY is component oh and i hardly ever play HDMI from my xbox i.e. i only normal non HDMI content movies and episodes from my xbox so transmitting HDMI is not really a requirement.

I just need to transmit simple signal and audio and recieve it on one of the other TVs preferably just simple component input.

There are plenty of options if you are content with component, ebay has several cheap baluns to drive component over cat-5, and there are component matrix switches, but IMO you may as well go HDMI now as its not that much more expensive and when you get a proper mysky you would regret not getting HD to the other displays.

Thanks for the info but you mention cat 5 but i want component over wireless. Any options for this?

Was thinking some more about this... how do i put the receiver in line with my other gear ie. i dont want to have to have the main TV on (transmitter running off the TV audio/video out) in order to send the signal.

Do they have transmitters that have pass through signals i.e. put it in line but still feed the relevant feeds through to the TV??

Forget wireless unless you have very very deep pockets. At the low end you have analog 2.4GHz composite senders which will not work if you or anyone near you uses a microwave oven, bluetooth, wifi, some cordless phones, some cordless headphones etc.

Then you have analog 5.8GHz senders that have a nice band to themselves but struggle to push a signal thru anything, and are still analog composite so suck for picture.

Then there is a big gap in price till you get to the wireless HDMI stuff. Cheaper to pull cables.
