I have not seen any NZ made comedy program for ages. Something like Little Britain but NZ style would be fun.
What I have noticed that Kiwis seem to be more into political correctness and comedy would step on toes of minorities?
Aussies seem to be able to have fun TV programs. Rove Live comes to mind first.

My gadgets:
NEC Versa S3200 Laptop running Linux Mint 9 and Win XP

3x I-mate Jasjam, one running WM6.1 and others WM5.1, all working with VF and Telecom XT
Canon Powershot SX120 Digital camera
Various old phones like Nokia 6310, Nokia 6610 and ancient Nokia 1610, all with carkits.
Greenspeed Gto recumbent trike with Rohloff 14 speed Speedhub, altogether 42 speed.
No TV, no microwave and no washing machine. ( Not enough space in my van for those) I live a mobile lifestyle, call me nomad if you wish but gypsy I am not.
Have started my epic journey from Bluff to Cape Reinga on my recumbent trike supported with my van so I can carry all my gadgets with me and sleep in a comfy bed.

There are too many grumpy old ladies that would write to the broadcast commission and complain simply because she has nothing to do all day long.

They are then taken seriously and anything worth while is shafted.

Also I think possibly that american comedy may have a lot to do with it, has it unfortunately come to the stage where if it doesn't have canned laughter it isn't considered comedy?, maybe tvnz needs to buy a canned laughter machine...they could get a cheap worn out one from the set of friends or dhama and greg

That canned laughter machine needs to be calibrated to local accents. Have you noticed how Maori laughter sounds quite different from European or Asian laughter.
Instead of those indoor comedies some Kiwi TV company could make some funny outdoor comedy. Plenty of ideas like silly driving,
silly tourists, silly farmers, silly animal antics, and all other funny things happening around New Zealand. Don't get offended anybody out there as if you can laugh at yourself then you are much less likely to stress out. Saying that I am going soon to see what strange and funny things they have invented in Funland, my old country. Some old funny activities include :wife carrying, cell phone throwing, swamp soccer, and 50 cc Tunturi moped racing to mention a few things.
