As many of you know, we recently disconnected Telecon and SkyTV from our house in favour of Telstra Clear services.
Today, Sky TV politely requested that we return our decoder to their office (Telecom Building in Wellington - what does that tell youTongue out).

Unfortunately during their business hours we can NOT make in it to return the decoder for a indefinite period. After informing SkyTV's (possibly Indian) customer service of this and politely asking them if they could possibly send out a courier bag to send the decoder back in (as Telstra Clear does) they denied that service saying "you MUST return your decoder to us". Undecided

I was told as to take as long as necessary to return the decoder and that there was NO charge for returning 'late'.
Looking ahead on my calendar there is no way for me to return it between 9 -5 (their hours) until at least mid-october. A good 4 months away from now.Yell

I have no intention of keeping this decoder past 12PM tonight - the moment of service termination. But apparently I must keep this rain-fade effected outdated circuitry around me for a long time. I will not be taking any responsibility for any accidental damage it suffers (or rather I suffer) from being around eg: it getting knocked over, me tripping over it.

Any thoughts from the members of Geekzone?

I am curious what does it tell you? Fuji Xerox are also in the building. What does that tell you?

Obviously you are a very intelligent person with a balanced point of view. Or maybe you are just an idiot.

I vote idiot!

Live up to your obligations and return the decoder. What a waste of a forum topic!

What is the phrase 'tit for tat'? which according to Wiki means 'equivalent retaliation'

I'm struggling to see the problem here. You have an obligation to return the decoder so do so. As for the comments about Telecom, Sky and Fuji Xerox - well this is completely unnecessary.

FYI - there is not one business multi-funtion machine that i would recommend higher than a Fuji-Xerox machine - incredibly high quality and brilliant service levels.

Where is this obligation? is it in the contract? or did they just say and hope like hell you would conform? I am going to check my terms and conditions now.

From a quick read of your blog you don't seem terribly occupied 9-5. Don't you have school holidays as well?

I agree, and I think the time has come to start issuing bans left and right. Either people behave and post constructive arguments, or things are going OT for my taste. I am tired of posts that are simply for the sake of a company bashing.

One thing I've learned in the last few years is that there's no company better than the other, there are services that are more adequate for some users.

This is not a place for grumpy people.
