I have a ether net cord running from my direct tv box to my router so that I can get movies from their cinema plus option.  When I hooked everything to my receiver yesterday the light for that connection on my router went out.  Do I need to run that ether net cord into my receiver?  I do not think that would make sense but just wanted to see if anyone else had any experience with this.

If the ethernet light on your router went out, just check that the ethernet cable plugs are connected properly, otherwise you could test/replace the cable.
