Does anyone know what WiFi adaptors work on Sony TVs and Panasonic Recorders (and AC Ryan)?
The retail price for the Sony and Panasonic Branded adaptors is ridiculous.

If all are in the same place and have Ethernet, why not get a Wireless Router that can run DD-WRT and put it into Client Mode (or any other router in that case that has client mode) - that way you are only forking out for 1 device and a few Ethernet cables.

The USB Identifier for these sticks is slightly random, thus no other sticks having the same serial = won't work.

So official Sony, or Ethernet >.<

Sony Bravia TVs *only* support their official WiFi dongle.

Stupid -yes. But why would you be surprised, it's vintage Sony - the king of incompatible connectors, proprietary formats and DRM. I guess we should be grateful it doesn't put a rootkit onto the network while it's at it (hint: if this seems an odd statement to you, Google "Sony CD rootkit").

+1 on configuring a cheapish wireless router as a client in bridge mode. Likely faster, and certainly more flexible and controllable. That's what I am currently contemplating, as cabling is not feasible for some key rooms in my place.

Thanks guys.
I figured that would be the case.
I like the idea of a client router although it doesn't need to be wireless.
I'm going to run a Cat5 cable from the Office to the Lounge anyway as it's much cheaper than buying the 3 WiFi Adaptors I would need.
I already have heaps of cable left after rewiring the Telephone and ADSL circuits.
